I love your premise that your heroine has been in love with her hero for many years, but has kept it hidden. And am very curious as to what secret he's hiding.

This sounds like a must read to me. Definitely added to my wish list. And your cover is beautiful.

Congratulations on your release and much success to you Jennie :)christine warnerhttp://christine-warner.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2366670135847123894.post-53244140203684472872011-11-06T23:18:09.896+01:002011-11-06T23:18:09.896+01:00Had to be out for most of the afternoon, but am ba...Had to be out for most of the afternoon, but am back now. Thank you all for your comments! I love this period in history, and I'd like to read more novels set in the early 20th century. Perhaps, with the hundredth anniversaries of events like the beginning of World War 1, the sinking of the Titanic and the Halifax Explosion coming around, we will see the birth of a new sub-genre of historical fiction.Jennie Marslandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01899825119251198365noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2366670135847123894.post-39773092248445651882011-11-06T22:40:06.375+01:002011-11-06T22:40:06.375+01:00Thank you for visiting. Old systems came to an end, new powers and technologies emerged (not all positive). I liked your mention of the baby that survived. I'd almost go as far as to say we're living in similar times today. There are a lot of parallels.

Good luck with the book!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2366670135847123894.post-86660708871942615702011-11-06T13:14:00.543+01:002011-11-06T13:14:00.543+01:00I think I'm attracted to wartime settings beca...I think I'm attracted to wartime settings because conflict is a given, and strong conflict makes for strong stories. There are two time periods that fascinate me: The American Civil War, because of its divided loyalties and the settlement of the West that followed, and World War 1, because of the staggering scale of the conflict and the change that went with it. Victorian morals and manners were swept away, women got the vote, cars replaced horses, war in the air was born, people got telephones and electricity in their homes. The World War 1 generation was unique. They experienced two world wars and the Great Depression. They grew up with horses and buggies and lived to see men walk on the moon. I can't help but admire them.Jennie Marslandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01899825119251198365noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2366670135847123894.post-6153309777023112352011-11-06T12:32:57.631+01:002011-11-06T12:32:57.631+01:00This looks like an interesting story. For example, there was 'Ashpan Annie', a toddler who was found in the rubble of her home days after the blast. She'd been thrown into the ash-pan beneath the kitchen stove, and the warm ashes kept her from freezing. She died last year.Jennie Marslandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01899825119251198365noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2366670135847123894.post-17433477632580318842011-11-06T11:42:56.938+01:002011-11-06T11:42:56.938+01:00Welcome to My Place, Jennie.
