The need to distinguish the thriller from your children’s books is apparent and I commend you for taking a responsible attitude to this despite the challenge created by the adoption of a pseudonym.Gayle Beveridgehttp://www.ficklefiction.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2366670135847123894.post-54009256746105434932012-03-09T09:32:42.974+01:002012-03-09T09:32:42.974+01:00David, Elizabeth & Trevor - thanks for visitin...David, Elizabeth & Trevor - thanks for visiting. :-)Cathie Dunnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08537946350336674340noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2366670135847123894.post-62686526340689761022012-03-09T09:32:05.516+01:002012-03-09T09:32:05.516+01:00Fabulous post, Lorraine. Having an alter ego is very useful, though it can be annoying when you have to constantly switch accounts back & forth.
I went down that road and haven't regretted it. Plus, I thought my real name didn't sound like a romantic fiction writer's.

Like you, I chose my pen name from family names - it's my MIL's married name, plus my own middle name. So technically, we're someone else but still keeping it in the family...

Good luck with Bad Moon Rising!Cathie Dunnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08537946350336674340noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2366670135847123894.post-41340850432656175622012-03-09T09:19:45.686+01:002012-03-09T09:19:45.686+01:00I became Trevor Forest for exactly the same reason...I became Trevor Forest for exactly the same reason Lo. My published work to date consists of pharmaceutical text books. I didn't want readers of my fiction to end up with a list of pharma titles - or vice versa. Then I realised the flaw in the logic - most of my contacts at present are in the pharma world - so I had to 'come clean' on the name change. Like you, I found it was a great way to start a discussion about my latest writing. I don't regret going down the pseudonym route at all. Good luck with the launch of Bad Moon Rising. I'm in the process of separating my darker work from the more light-hearted because I believe it would confuse the readers otherwise.

And I know about the problems of trying to work multiple platforms/brands. I'm still trying to master it.David Robinsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13000338117685929780noreply@blogger.com
